Addiscombe Railway Park

Event 14th October 2012

A dry and sunny day greated us on our October workday. The water course area was still very wet from recent rain.

Work continued on the water course to make it deeper and wider. This project had been delayed due the discovery of newts and frogs in the water.

The Woodside school parents association joined us in the park. Their aim was to improve the school entrance triangle by adding some more colourful plants.

Work included:

Deeping and Widening the water course.
Litter picking.
Clearing of weeds from the young trees and generally improving the area at the north end the park.

The young trees by the school wall are doing very well and should be able to survive without further help next year.
